I sat down and turned on the TV just as the opening credits for the movie, Falling In Love were scrolling across the screen. I didn’t catch the title but immediately recognized Meryl Streep sitting on a Metro North train. I thought to myself, “Any movie Meryl Streep does is worth watching,” and I was not disappointed.
I was surprised at how young and beautiful she looked as I only became aware of her later on in her career. This movie came out in 1984 so she was in her late 20’s while filming it.
There have been a number of old romance movies on TV recently with Venus in Capricorn now so even though I’m not normally into watching romantic dramas, the oldies seem more appealing now than ever.

The movie title explains it all but doesn’t allude to the depth and details of watching two people finding themselves wrangling with an intense attraction while simultaneously trying to restrain themselves in order to keep their marriages intact.
It was a somewhat Romeo & Juliet type of fated connection, without the idealism of youth and set in the gritty backdrop of early ’80s NYC. The conflict against their union was not opposing families but their own struggle to do the right thing.
Robert De Niro plays the unlikely Romeo. He was also strikingly handsome with a a rugged NYC charm. His swarthy Sicilian complexion contrasting to Streep’s winsome reddish-blonde fairness lent an air of authenticity to their mutual, opposite attraction.
There are no poignant flowery monologues, poetry, or music with this film. It is not one for the teenagers where 
love conquers all. This mature (Venus in Capricorn) romance took a much more realistic view of what happens, blow-by-blow when two married people find themselves unexpectedly and unwittingly falling in love with each other. Venus in Capricorn love, mature love combined with taking responsibility.
They were not looking for it, but there is was and the movie shows their struggling within themselves to do what was right. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn the strict task master and planet of Karma. So having Venus in Capricorn makes one very careful in love matters. Society’s rules matter to Capricorn and running off with some new flame is not the way Venus in Capricorn operates.
The movie kindly ends things on a positive note, but not without keeping the viewers on their toes. Everything turns out well, or at least we think it does, eventually. After much time has passed and they remain patient with events (in true Saturnian form) things slowly evolve into the solid, life-long, loving commitment that they seek. The true gift of a Saturn ruled Venus.

Neptune is very powerfully placed in the sign it rules, Pisces which has made it a significant influence on events and in people’s lives. Whenever an outer planet stations retrograde or direct we may experience major events. At 4 degrees of Pisces, Neptune will most strongly effect people with planets and points in this chart aspecting this position. Individuals may also experience a new development in areas of their life (house) where Pisces is found.
Neptune’s effect is most powerfully seen in the lives of people who have Neptune prominently placed in their birth chart. One example is in the life of the late singer Whitney Houston, She passed away from a drug overdose on February 11, 2012 shortly after Neptune’s second entry into Pisces on Feb 3, 2012. (Neptune entering Pisces was only one contributing astrological factor to her demise.)
She had Pisces rising and the transits of Neptune, as slow as Neptune moves through the signs (spending approximately 14 years in each sign – or traveling through the zodiac in 165 years) Neptune showed the different changes in her life in each sign it passed through during her short life.
Other famous people associated with drugs died around this time like Amy Winehouse and Betty Ford, two women who had battled with alcohol addiction both died in July 2011 following Neptune’s first entry into Pisces.
Often times, something that was held back when the planet went retrograde will resurface when the planet goes direct again. This can be seen in some prominent events which occurred the last time Neptune went stationary retrograde and direct.
Neptune stationed retrograde last June 21, 2019. (Neptune stations retrograde every year) and at around this time, something related to things ruled by Neptune that was held back or went away during the retrograde period, may now resurface at this time that Neptune is stationing direct.
People who have an addiction of any kind could face a new challenge or decide to do something about it during this time. Neptune can cause people to be idealistic in their ambitions or take on a new outlook in life. It can also make people feel powerless, become martyrs for a cause.
People with a prominent Neptune in their natal charts are extremely sensitive, which can be a blessing or a curse. This station direct on Sunday may increase that sensitivity which can have mental or physical ramifications.
Neptune rules over hard to diagnose illnesses. In a mundane chart it may refer to spreading of a hard to treat disease. Recently there have been a couple of prominent diseases spreading, most publicized is the Ebola outbreak.
Neptune co-rules Pisces with Jupiter and both signify religious/philosophical beliefs as well as conspiracy theories when afflicted. There have been some mysterious events in the past year like the Malaysian plane that has still not been recovered. Conspiracy theories about the Malaysian plane and whether Ebola was purposely released into the world will spread at this time.
Neptune also signifies fanaticism and the rise of ISIS or extremism regarding any topic may flare up now.
The problems that Neptune presents is in trying to determine what is real and what isn’t. What may seem real, isn’t and what is not seen, is there. One can write great poetry and fantasy fiction under the surreal influence of this outer planet. However, dealing with day-to-day matters can be confusing.
With Neptune going direct on Sunday, think back to anything Neptune related around June 21st when it went station retrograde. It could be the month leading up to or after that date with such a slow outer planet. However, you may experience something return or become an issue again at this time which was also a topic in the forefront of your life back in early summertime.
A positive way to experience Neptune is to create something, volunteer, and help the less fortunate (human or animal). Sensitivity to all life is strong now. Meditation, religious study or other spiritual pursuit could be most inspiring now. Also, activities related to water may be most soothing like taking a walk by a lake or relaxing in a jacuzzi.
(Mercury makes it’s final (3rd) trine to Neptune after going back and forth in it’s retrograde motion. Mercury formed a trine to Neptune on Oct 15th, Nov 13th and today. Something similar or related may occur on these dates and with this final trine it will come to a close.)
Neptune gives insight and Mercury understanding, so combined they lift the veil to the other side and allow communication across different dimensions. Intellectual borders dissolve under this aspect.
However, this is not the week for dealing with facts, figures, or detailed work as Neptune tends to muddle things on the material plane. This combination can cause some scandals and misunderstandings when dealing with everyday communications, interactions or financial matters. Missed calls and misplaced messages are common so try to give others the benefit of the doubt in these matters.

Neptune also rules viruses, drugs and alcohol. Being careful with any prescriptions and avoiding intoxicants is important now. Beware of a tendency to want to escape reality with alcohol or other indulgences. Also a general feeling of apathy or laziness may also be strong now.
Sacrifice is also a Neptune keyword, so volunteer work and helping the less fortunate may benefit you as well as others.
While Neptune can cause drug addiction, the positive side of Neptune (spirituality) can help a person. This is a positive time to practice meditation a/o spirituality. Also at this time you may have more appreciation for poetry, music, art, film, and photography.
At this time there may be some exciting events for women and finances. There may be some sudden ups and downs in the stock market, more than usual and/or unexpected. However this is a good time to be spontaneous and exciting in romance and entertainment. There may be sudden changes in social activities or affections but everything will run smoothly when you go with the flow.
Now is the time to come up with a plan. Any schedule or organization that you make today will be sound. Thinking long-term and seeking the advice of more experienced minds will work is best at this time. Doing and detail work, crunching numbers may be most satisfying now. Anything that you want to accomplish in the future, now is the time to figure out exactly how you plan on achieving it. News or information may arise which may be helpful in building your future.
